Also, not sure why you didn't think the Zombies were psych enough but you're all about the Green Pajamas. To me, they're just pop w/ a slight paisley tinge. And I like the Bubble Puppy fine, but not sure why you aren't more into the 13th Floor Elevators. Their lyrics alone are far beyond the great majority of bands in the genre (Slip Inside The House?!?!). Plus, they started psychedelic rock, and 'Easter Everywhere' is better than any of these 15, imo. But to each their own. Crikey, I have that 13th Floor Elevators album too (another I must actually play), and I recently bought the Fallen Angles based on one of your older lists because of the Forever Changes comparison. They're all sitting in my rack waiting for a spin or two over the next few weeks. 60s Psych is not a genre I'm overly familiar with and I guess the Zombies veers more towards the pop mode doesn't it. I remember David Kilgour & Martin Phillipps once got together and recorded a 5 track EP as the Pop Art Toasters which was a wonderful homage to this kind of music. Pity they never followed it up with an album. Cheers. AlanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
